This is the Apacs Finapi 232 Next Gen Badminton Racket, the 2024 successor to what came after a legend by Apacs. This badminton racket builds on the proven success of the legendary Finapi 232 and improves it by adding better materials, resulting in one of the most recognizable budget-to-midrange badminton rackets in the history of the sport. Designed with all-court play in mind, this racket provides top-notch performance for developing players.

The most crucial improvement in the Next Gen racquet would be in its frame, where the standard 24T High Modulus graphite will be replaced by UHM (Ultra High Modulus) Japanese Graphite. UHM graphite is made of stiffer carbon fibres than those used in HM graphite and hence offers much greater stiffness-to-weight ratio, resulting in more efficient energy transfer during each swing as well as increased rigidity to withstand the stress generated due to impact loading on the racquet, making it structurally more robust over time. Since the Next Gen would have its strings stretched to 40 lbs, compared to 24-28 lbs for most intermediate players, this is quite a significant advantage.

The Next Gen Finapi 232 is an evenly balanced racket of around 290mm, and this was a carefully chosen decision by the designers. A lot of rackets in the same price range tend to be head heavy, as they offer better smashing power but at the sacrifice of net speed and mobility. The fact that the Next Gen is evenly balanced means that it will suit rear-court strokes, mid-court strokes, and net play in equal measure.
